What to Expect.
If you have never been to Cleveland Baptist Church (or even Church) - here is what you can expect.
-
Where do I park?We offer ample on-site parking for our visitors. Parking is available at both the front and rear of the church building. The front parking area can be accessed from Bloomfield Street, while the upper grass area is accessible via Long Street. For overflow parking, there is a lower grass area that can be reached from Princess Street or the Bloomfield Street entrance. For those requiring accessible parking, designated spaces are conveniently located near the main entrances to ensure easy access to our facilities. If you have any questions or need further assistance regarding parking, please don't hesitate to contact our office at (07) 3286 2724 or email us at office@clevelandbaptist.com.au.
-
How long do gatherings typically last? Our Sunday gatherings usually run for about 90 minutes. This includes worship, teaching, and time for prayer or reflection. You're also welcome to stick around afterwards for a coffee and a chat - it's a great way to meet others and feel at home!
-
Is your building accessible?Yes! Our venue is wheelchair accessible.
-
What should I wear? There’s no formal dress code at Cleveland Baptist Church - just come as you are! You’ll see a mix of styles, from casual to smart-casual. We care more about people feeling welcome than what they’re wearing.
-
How can I get connected to a Life Group? If you're interested in joining a Life Group, we encourage you to first come along to a few of our Sunday services. It’s a great way to get to know us better and see if CBC feels like the right church for you. Once you've visited a few times, you can speak to someone at the Welcome Desk - they’ll be happy to connect you with either Pastor David Hunt or our Elder, Derek Millar, who can help guide you to a Life Group that suits your stage of life and availability.
-
What about my kids?We are a multi-generational community and kids of all ages are welcome! Specifically for kids in pre-kindy to year 6 we have a Masterkids program. We include an announcement when it’s time to check your kids in. This includes games, interactive crafts and learning bible stories together. All facilitated by our amazing kids team. All of our kid's team have gone through child safety training, have valid blue cards and have been trained in how to appropriately interact with children.
-
Is there a mothers room?We have a small, comfortable room located in the corner of the auditorium, designed for mothers who wish to breastfeed privately, soothe their babies, or simply have a quiet moment. The room is equipped with a speaker so you can still listen to the sermon and worship music while caring for your little one. We hope this space helps you feel more at ease while participating in the service.
-
How do I join a ministry to serve? We’re thrilled that you're interested in serving! To join a ministry, you must first become a member of the church. If you're not yet a member, simply email the church office to request membership at office@clevelandbaptist.com.au. Once you’ve completed the membership process, we will connect you with the right ministry leader. We have a variety of ministries, including worship, children’s ministry, hospitality, and more. We’ll help you find a place where your gifts and passion can make a difference!
